The medical group did a variety of things. Each day they split into three or four groups and worked in different locations. They staffed an HIV clinic and performed numerous GYN exams. They worked doing general medicine in four different sites around Tela seeing close to 100 people per day. They taught CPR courses for the fire department and for the staff at the main clinic. They also had a diabetic educator who spent numerous days at the main health clinic helping teach the staff and patients. The team brought down over 200 lbs of medications which were essentially gone by the end of the week. The main ailments they treated were intestinal parasites, scabies, fungal infections and arthritis.
