Important Events/Dates/Updates:

Now through December 14, Photo Art “Children of Honduras ” Exhibit

• Stop by Village Wine and Coffee ( Shelburne Village ), enjoy a cup of coffee, buy a bottle of wine, and let Kevin know you are visiting to see the display.
  The photo art of Honduran children taken at our 2007 projects sites by Louisa Schibli (volunteer from Charlotte ) is on display and for sale. If you would like to purchase, proceeds will go to the VT-Hands to Honduras-Tela 2008 projects.

Tuesday, December 18, Fundraiser at Vermont Teddy Bear, 6:00 – 10:30pm

• Fundraiser for VT- Hands to Honduras –Tela. So far we have 28 volunteers signed up to have fun at this fundraiser. We hope to raise another $1,000.00 for the projects. For information, please email lindaggilbert@gmail.com or lindaggilbert@excite.com.

Sunday, January 6, Volunteer Meeting, Shelburne Town Center , 3:00 – 5:00pm

• Question and answer time for the upcoming January-February ’08 trip
• Projects update and project leader information
• Fundraising update
• Socialize with the volunteer team with light appetizers, desserts and beverages

Fundraising Letters

• We are writing letters to friends, family and business associates to help fund the 2008 projects. If you haven’t sent letters either by email or snail mail and would like to, we will be happy to provide letters and envelopes or the email letter to send. This is really important as the projects we work on are totally dependent on the dollars we raise.

Wish Lists

• The Wish Lists are updated on our web site www.handstohonduras.org If you have room in your ‘extra’ suitcase; there are specific things that have been requested by the schools, the Rehab Center , IHNFA, etc.. We want to give what the request is.

2008 Volunteers

• If you haven’t sent your completed emergency/application form, copy of passport, and transportation fee of $50.00/person (write check to Hands to Honduras-Tela and on memo line, write transportation fee.), please send asap to Linda Gilbert, 190 Red Tail Lane , Charlotte , VT 05445 .
• Hotel rooms – if you have not given your request to Al, please contact him at 425-3838 or albarcelona@gmavt.net

Container news:

• What has been collected is a very impressive sight. The committee traveled to Barre on 12/28 with two cars full of equipment and supplies to add to the massive amount of items that are prepared o go in to the container.
• Special thanks to
• Norm has been working diligently on getting help from his Chiquita friends to ensure a prompt delivery of our beloved container!
• Jack Barnes and Ted Goulette in Barre for their tireless efforts to warehouse, organize, shrink wrap, and palletize - all the items.
• All of the community members who have donated so much – it truly is a community to community project!
• All of the volunteers who have requested and collected so many items (thank you Nicole Gilbert-O’Brien for the huge baby jogger effort).
• The organizing committee for hundreds of dedicated hours requesting, collecting, storing, boxing, shrink wrapping and transporting.
• All this team effort is very much appreciated!
