Snake
Mountain
Waldorf
hikes
for
Honduras
Two
classes
from
the
Lake
Champlain
Waldorf
School
recently
braved
chilly
temperatures
as
they
hiked
different
peaks
in
Vermont.
The
fourth
grade
climbed
Sbake
Mountain
and
the
seventh
grade
hiked
Stowe
Pinnacle.
Although
conditions
were
more
winter
than
tropical,
the
inspiration
behind
hte
hikes
was
to
raise
awareness
and
funds
for
the
VT-Hands-to-Honduras-Tela.
The
not-for-profit
organization
provides
humanitarian
assistance
to
the
people
of
Tela,
Honduras.
The
goal
of
the
program
is
to
create
a
better
environment
for
the
children
of
this
impoverished
area.
Students
from
both
classes
were
asked
to
find
supporting
sponsors.
The
money
raised
from
thej
hike
will
be
donated
to
VT-Hands-to-Honduras-Tela
and
used
for
building
projects
and/or
school
supplies.
Fourth
grader
Ky
White-Hansen
and
seventh
grader
Jasper
White-Hansen
(along
with
their
parents
and
fourth
grader
parent
Nicole
Gilbert-Obrien)
will
join
more
than
80
volunteers
(many
from
Chittenden
County)
this
winter
to
participate
in
a
wide
variety
of
projects,
including
school
and
water
projects.
The
VT-Hands-to-Honduras-Tela
program
will
be
that
much
stronger
thanks
to
the
fundraising
efforts
these
students,
their
families
and
friends.
